Eschborn/Feldkirch, June 2026. In 2026, the DEHAG Hospitality Group will celebrate 50 years of success: founded by hoteliers for hoteliers, the company can look back on half a century of change, growth and entrepreneurial strength, and today is more successful and forward-looking than ever before. What started out small has grown into a true heavyweight in its sector – one of the leading hotel and services groups in Central Europe, with a clear vision, a solid foundation and plenty of momentum for the coming decades.
1,600 hotels and hotel chains, 18 hotel brands, a broad range of services
More than 1,600 hotels and hotel chains rely on the extensive portfolio of services to become more profitable, competitive, and visible — ranging from consulting & management to cost and process optimization, as well as automation and digitalization. The portfolio includes 18 hotel brands — among them Best Western and WorldHotels. The DEHAG Hospitality Group serves as the unifying umbrella for several specialized companies and brands within the hospitality industry. In addition to BWH Hotels’ hotel brands and sales services, the group includes progros, a specialist in procurement and supply chain management for the hospitality industry; unitels consulting, which provides accounting and management services; allinvos, which focuses on digitalization; and B.W. Hotel GmbH, the general partner of B.W. Hotel Betriebsgesellschaft, which leases and operates hotels.
Key milestones in 2026: Further anniversaries within the DEHAG family
DEHAG’s 50th anniversary is accompanied by other significant milestones within the group. Whilst Best Western International looks back on 80 years of history and Best Western in the DACH region celebrates its 40th anniversary, progros (40 years), unitels consulting (30 years) and allinvos (20 years) are also marking important milestones in their corporate histories. Together, these companies now represent one of the most diverse hospitality networks in the German-speaking world and beyond. “Developments over the past few decades demonstrate just how profoundly collaborative structures and partnership-based cooperation can shape the hotel industry in the long term,” explains Marcus Smola, Chairman of the Board of DEHAG Hospitality Group and CEO of BWH Hotels Central Europe. “What began decades ago as a shared vision among a group of dedicated hoteliers has now grown into a widely established hospitality group offering a diverse range of expertise and services.”
A successful model: Tailored solutions for hotels and hotel groups
At the 2026 annual conference in Feldkirch, Austria, representatives from various organizations, along with numerous hoteliers and partners, came together to celebrate the developments of the past decades. “Our aim has always been, and remains, to support hotels and hotel groups with intelligent, cost-effective solutions based on partnership, enabling them to operate more profitably and with an even greater focus on their guests,” says Jochen Oehler, CMO of the DEHAG Hospitality Group and CEO of progros. “The fact that several companies within the group are celebrating significant anniversaries today demonstrates the long-term stability and relevance of our model.” The DEHAG Hospitality Group currently employs around 165 staff at its offices in Eschborn, Vienna and Zurich, and manages hotels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other countries in Central Europe.
